One of my favorite things about working at Gaetano’s is that we are provided with opportunities to give back to our community as a team. For the past six years, we have organized a sock drive at the restaurant. I was lucky enough last year to volunteer to help deliver the socks and serve lunch at SPY, A Safe Place for Youth (SPY). Thanks to the donations from our Gaetano’s guests, we always have a ton of socks to give!
SPY works to provide food, clothing, and social services to those in need. This facility serves as a refuge and resource for homeless youth in Venice. Alongside some volunteers from Bettolino Kitchen, I served a delicious Gaetano’s lunch to over 100 youth in need. It was such a rewarding experience to feed people, see the smiles on their faces enjoying a great meal, and deliver the much-needed socks that were donated by our generous community.
This year, we will hold a sock drive starting Tuesday, September 1st – 15th which I hope you will help with! We are offering guests a FREE appetizer or dessert when donating a 4-pack of socks (minimum). You can drop these off when dining with us on our outdoor patio, picking up your takeout order or just stopping by.
Don’t forget to drop off a 4-pack of socks (minimum) the next time you are at the restaurant!
