Here are our top grilling tips for this summer!
- Let the meat sit out of the refrigerator for 30 minutes so that it reaches room
temperature. We do this so that the outside of the meat does not burn and the inside isn’t cold. - Cut half an onion and place on a long grilling fork. Use the cut side to clean your grill. This is a non-toxic and inexpensive way to clean the grill before you begin.
- Grill hot dogs and sausages under indirect heat. So, fire up one side of the grill, then put the hot dogs and sausages on the other side. This will prevent splitting and burning.
- Need help to know if your meat is done? Yes, you can try touching the meat to gauge it’s doneness. But, unless you are grilling religiously, this method is hard. Buy yourself a nice thermometer. Each cut of meat will need to be taken off at different temperatures.
- When grilling burgers, don’t press the meat down. It only engulfs the flames and loses the juice keeping them tender!
- Do you like those grill marks? If the grill were a clock, start with your meat on the grill facing 3:00. Then turn to 9:00. Then flip and repeat.
